You say the rights of that person molesting people on the streets is greater than that of the citizen trying to get to work (or an 8 year old en route to school). That's unacceptable to me. So while I agree with you on mental instituti

Agreed. Incentives are not aligned. It seems the unnamed "War on Homelessness" has just created an industry not actually interested in solving the problem. This recent Hoover Institution article had an interesting take seemingly a

The real question is, what do we do with violators? Especially those lost in the head. Adequate mental health institutions seems an appropriate start. But it also needs to be coordinated regionally. San Francisco and LA can not bear the bur

Agreed. And you prove my point in a way. Our litigious (Edit: and racially preferential) culture is part of the issue. A holistic approach is a principled one. Clear laws are principled. For example, noise ordinances in SF say there's

The law is blind. The more we bend this the more our society breaks. Especially in the eyes of our children. Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Justice

The YouTuber Suspicious0bservers somewhat predicted the Quakes via Space Weather: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISfueR4vAhQ . His channel and research are interesting.

Thanks for sharing this. I didn’t know about ‘reduce()’. Only thing I’d add is to use TypeScript.

A tax would have to be enforced globally to be effective. Are you advocating for an International tax collector? To add to that, you could be the arbiter of “negative externalities” since you have such a good handle on theoretical economics

So if I paid off my loans do I get a check? Or does the dollar keep getting devalued because of policies that sound good?

I disagree. Overall v3 will be more TS friendly as they’re working to make the lib more functional and less reliant on JS syntactic sugar like classes, hocs, and mixins.

Fossil fuel will be phased out when economically rational. Look at what natural gas did to carbon emissions in the US [0] Some Gov intervention may accelerate the change. But overall I’m weary of their efforts. [0] “Natural gas, which emits

I hear you. Other languages have those properties. Including TypeScript. In my experience I've found real-world applications, by definition are never as pure and perfect as we like them to be. Users do stupid things, or vendor APIs don

Correct. Interesting you bring up JS, as the Haskellers I spoke of loathed JS and treated it and its developers as below them. But that's just my experience. I hope Lumi was able to gain efficiencies using PureScript and Haskell. And t

From my experience Haskellers spend more time talking about how perfect and pure Haskell is than building real-world applications.

I live in San Francisco. The method of transferring you describe is reasonable to me and congruent with my opinion. It's good they share the station is my main point.

I agree only as far as those entrenched in Washington DC. But would argue 'grassroots' conservatism believes state favored corporations, regardless of ideology, are anti free market.
