There is very very slight overlapping if you zoom in ultra high, but casual browsers will not zoom in that far.

No, not necessarily. You've been spoiled by GPUs. Try filling any modern screen buffer (>1024x768) pixel-by-pixel, just as software rasterizers do, even with just a solid color. You'll find it takes a long and quite frankly unacceptable

Almost all AI these days (even academic research) is a "solution for a single domain," unfortuantely.

It seems like this author is taking four classes and teaching an additional one. So, he complains that he needs to task switch too often. (How is this different from undergrad?) He should just wait a year or two for classes to be over with

This is a really fascinating sequence of articles discussing the ins and outs of businesses we see every day and always wonder about their market and profitability -- who knew that cabbies pay $18,000/yr on gas? Or that insurance for a yoga

Ironically, the article referenced by the author does not blame the C language for this problem. Instead, it blames the CA for issuing the certificates in the first place: "Marlinspike said since there is no legitimate reason for a null cha

Why have there been so many "<complicated topic> explained to 8-yr old" posts? It's great that the gist of things can be explained (most complicated things have simple premises), but the devil's in the details!

Friends of Ed offers one of their web development books on their website each Thursday as a $10 eBook. Apress also has a daily $10 offer, but Apress's are often outdated or about non-web technologies.

My experience has been that the suburbs were dull, allowing me to get really great at programming. But even better, when I had the opportunity to move to big cities, they were even more fantastic and exciting because I was from suburbs. I c

To start off, I recommend that you get more practical-oriented books which contain lots of exercises. There are actually some books which try to explore discrete math using C or Mathematica/Maple. Those might make the subject a bit more int

The article is half-true. Doing something opposite everyone else is only valuable if you create demand for it, or if (very rarely) everyone realizes its worth. Just as with everything else, it comes down to marketing. In popular areas, you
