If you were a police officer or a fireman, would you not date because you might get injured on the job and you'd want to spare them the grief? See how ridiculous that sounds? I enjoy relationships not for the length of time I'm with someone

I think that undergraduate admission is more chance than graduate. By the time you enter graduate studies, you have a lot more time to distinguish yourself from other applicants.

Just list the titles of the classes -- they are impressive enough. Put your GPA instead of your grades if it is good. Emphasize your projects the most -- if you have a good GPA, you need to distinguish yourself b/c lots of people have good

The best way for me to study for test was to read through a lot of worked out problems. This works great for the short term, but not for the long term. Retention from reading is a lot less than from doing. Sure, you may learn programming fa

The only thing that I wonder (and fear) about this piece -- is whether this is the only slant on the story that Chinese citizens will be allowed to access.

Here is a really great blog by someone who made it into a game, with challenges for himself and simple stages. Maybe you can find some inspiration through his posts: http://socialskydivingwithjustin.posterous.com/ Also, a trick that I use

It all depends on how it is implemented. After all, you could take regular grades and assign points to each grade -- and the two systems would be equivalent. The big question for me though is exactly as you point out. Engineering projects,

I'd guess that tipping is mostly a socio-cultural thing -- it is expected; it would be considered rude not to. In addition, peer pressure is a factor -- unfortunately, I doubt that I would tip as high as I do or as often as I do if I didn't

There was a lot of debate on this surrounding the original OKCupid blog post. In summary, it is subconciously racism. I may not find people of a certain race attractive. However, let's say that I become good friends with some people of that

No way, I buy lots of eBooks. I consider them a cheap education, especially with some of those great $10 deals that some publishers have for modern titles (e.g. friends of ED, Manning).

I agree, but if you wait until a platform gets to be ultra-popular before developing, the chance of great success is much lower. It's classic risk vs. reward. Apps aren't that difficult to make, so taking early risks on platforms like Faceb
