Based on what valuation? Sell them to who? It was a privately owned company. I doubt I'd have been able to persuade the founder to buy my stake considering I'd signed a thing that said I get nothing if I quit before they exit.

It was stated in writing as 1% of shares at exit time, not as a number of shares. Again, I'm clueless about options. But this was way outside of silicon valley and among people who couldn't care less how things are done there. For

There was no vesting in this case. The shares were explicitly conditional on current employment when they became eligible to be exercised. Mind you I'm next to clueless about options, but I remember that language being in whatever I si

I agree with them on most issues. I appreciate them raising and theorizing about their more fringe issues. What I don't appreciate are their tactics and aggressive enforcement.

Whoever contributed $9,000 is generous in more ways than one. They magnanimously left it to someone else to be the first to contribute over 9000, when they could have easily claimed it themselves.

I had a teacher a long time ago who was full of questionable wisdom for us 9th graders. My favorite was, "If you're not sure of your position, you should probably.. er.. um.. state it more strongly. I mean, STATE IT MORE STRONGLY!

I lived in Seattle from 2005 to 2018. By the time I left, the combination of all the tent cities, uniformed private security everywhere, metal detector lines in the ER, and at least 3 tech giants absolutely had me feeling like I was in a dy

I actually made it through the first 4 or maybe 5 seasons, and was pretty bored and underwhelmed the whole time. I found all of the characters except Amos and Bobbie flat and (unintentionally) off-putting. Unless I'm missing something,

This sounds like a great example of where Reddit would be 100x more useful than Google's version of the web. There's no doubt in my mind that Google tries really hard to Disneyfy the web, unless you push it really hard not to.
