I wouldn’t trip at all. There are great folks on HN, and you can tell from comments who are the sour ones just because. I personally enjoy reading your posts. I worked at Apple for a long time, loved it. I still use their products and want

This technology is not new, dating back to 2000. It was kicked out of the NFL as they used it to review plays at half.

Founder here of a few startups. Was a total hackasaurus, and very similar to you in the quality. I then decided to build a new product with some friends. Changed it all! I had to start from scratch and build the whole stack. Lots of headach

Don’t know if he reads HN, but a guy I knew long ago did the Beastie Boy fan website. Beastie at the time just went with his vs their own since it was better and had a lot of traffic. Would have expected lawsuits for branding, etc. Was a fu

I have read that, thank you for posting. Schools are good at selling the vision for sure. Sister did photography, and is amazing at it. Just doesn’t pay the bills. In that context, we do need future poets and artists, and I am sure their jo

My wife and I lived a very simple lifestyle for years (7ish) after college so we could pay off student loan debt. Awesome Ford Tempo car, local honeymoon, Studio apt for first 5 years, limited eating out. She has a masters (more loans), and

This is one of the best threads and feedback I have read on HN. The biggest fear among males is prison. Not having proper protection and legal advise changes lives, and it federates deep.

They should teach them Terminal on OSX. I would expect most CS folks would need it per building code or Git. Maybe I am too disconnected, and life is now IDE. I showed my son at a young age terminal commands to browse the filesystem. It rea

Fully agree. Rather than digressing, change the way you operate, or adhere to standards. There is no magic box for all your asks, no cloud company does this. AWS is pretty darn good with customers IMHO. Companies have to trade off stability
