I think you'll find that's not exactly true. Many comedians are excellent at improv, that also makes them really good at keeping up the act in front of everyone around them.

An associate of mine has been doing this for the past 10 years and he makes a pretty good living doing it. He's done everything from pretending to be a manager of a restaurant to pretending to be a business partner of a desktop suppor

I would need a concrete example but I'm not buying your assertion. Some of the most flexible people I know are all developers, irrespective of age. If you told me that older developers were more likely to ask questions and seek evide

> When you have a very fluid workflow youth is very attractive. i.e. you don't bother to spend an hour to plan a project. I don't think anyone wants to work at those kinds of places, young or old.

> A major pension plan serving 100,000 retirees needs their 100 billion dollars in assets to be managed responsibly, can a 24 year old Stanford grad manage that? Judging by the NYC pension fund, I could manage 100 billion better. http:&

I would be less worried about that and more worried about cost. I know of two different startups that aren't profitable but would be if they hadn't put their entire platform on amazon services. One of those startups was lucky en

You may find it selfish but I don't see why they shouldn't go to verify that the money their spending is being used appropriately.

If I could give you a high five or a hug over the internet I'd do just that. I stopped going to hack-a-thons all together because at some point (I can't pinpoint the exact time) they turned into show-and-tell for existing startup

I think it is exactly the fact that they are using Symfony components. Symfony and a lot of other PHP frameworks went head first into the non-sensical enterprise Java abstraction and IoC hell from 10-15 years ago that current Java develope

Yes, which is always why I always cringe when I see how many people in their 20s and 30s believe that home ownership is a bad idea. The willingness to rent for life in order to live a high density, urban lifestyle is going to come back to

My experience was vastly different and that's the problem. These aren't guidelines they are laws and you're at the mercy of whoever is investigating you. I'd rather not give too many details but one of the companies I w

I worked in medical tech for a few years, there are a few reasons people aren't going to flood into that sector. 1.) Regulation, HIPAA is a massive pain to deal with, the rules nebulous and require significant process that is expensive

I apologize if you thought I was being rude, if it's all for fun and exercise that's cool. If it's more hipsterism then not so much.

As long as they aren't engineering interns, my sister cleared 30K in a summer in SV during her internship. I was floored because I felt lucky to even get an internship 10 years ago.

So you believe that it is more energy efficient for a ton of compost to be moved by humans than by a single truck making one trip? What about all of the oil it takes to generate the food to feed the humans who move the compost? I don't

Yeah, I looked into that and last I checked it is prohibitively expensive. If this is a viable alternative I can see two great uses. 1.) Whole house UPS 2.) A way to take advantage of significantly lower night time electric rates.

Why is living off the grid the main objective here? I live in a suburban area that occasionally has power outages. Right now I'm considering the purchase of whole house generator but if I could have a battery instead I'd do it.

My first web dev job was at a company in that situation. Trust me when I say that would never happen. By the time a company reaches the position myspace is in they usually have a penny pinching CEO that sees engineering as an expense. Th

Sure, but look at it this way. If an artist who has 100K followers removes their music from music sharing services and decides to sell MP3 versions of their album directly for $2. That is 200K. 22 cents a month is obscene.

NBC and a few other companies have been doing this for a very long time for many positions. They get away with it by using third party agencies and there isn't any recourse for the employee.

Better integration would work by allowing users to save routes on google maps. Those same routes would show in your list of saved routes on the google maps app, possibly with a cached offline version of the route on your cellphone.

I actually tried that, it's kind of hacky and is not well integrated with google maps or android. Also, if your phone is off or the screen is locked for a few minutes it doesn't work.
