Have P/E ratios been rising? Stock prices have likely risen thanks to the buy backs. Have earnings increased proportionally?

Is this primarily aimed at building duplexes on bare land? Or to convert existing single family homes to duplexes? For the latter, how are the economics? It is not cheap to prematurely tear down a house to build a duplex instead.

This is disheartening. I can see how once people switch to junk food, for lack of availability or other reason, it becomes hard to go back. Junk foods are designed to be addictive (salty, fatty, convenient,...)

Has anyone attempted a mobile grocery store that drives to food deserts on a fixed schedule? It could say be a container with a single aisle, stocked with the basics and a checkout at one end.

The invention of writing systems, numerical systems and mathematics, etc were huge boosts to human’s cognitive capabilities. Have those tools kept up with the explosion of available knowledge?

My theory is that amazon’s new business model is increasingly going to be based on advertising. Reliable reviews are incompatible with advertising revenue (why else would you have to advertise heavily if your products are really the best).

Even with parental leave, the need for day care doesn’t stop. Some of the companies I have been part of offer very generous (by US standards) parental leave - 6 months. But the need for day care is there at least until the kids are 2-3 ye
