Well, you can blame my bad programming for that :) When you press backspace, the focus shifts to the previous cell, deleting the contents of the current cell. When you've entered < 5 characters in the current row, the focus is on th

Yeah, this was partly inspired by how easy it is to solve Wordle, 4/6 is doable in most cases. That said, I think most people play Wordle with the objective of getting a 3/6.

Yeah I think that's the way to go, will leave it up to the player to decide. Will also change the colors to match the green/amber color coding, thanks!

Yeah I think that makes sense, will add that as an option for the player to choose.

Hmm, I took the words from `/usr/share/dict/words` on Ubuntu, maybe I need a more comprehensive dictionary.

Thanks! I hope you got today's word! I was able to guess it within 8 tries the last few times, but I failed today.

Well, I chose red and white because those were the colors used to score in Mastermind :) But yeah, I suppose green/amber are better, and consistent with the color coding of the characters in the grid. > allowing a nonexistent word o

That's right, I wasn't sure whether the answer should be revealed or not, so I left it out. Do you think the answer should be revealed, or should the player be given more tries?

Yeah, I think a keyboard that shows used letters just like Wordle does would be a nice addition. Thanks!

Yeah I too found the syntax somewhat unintuitive at times. But to answer your question, you would do 'map(.k1)'

If you assume the human-centric definition of the word "pain", perhaps. But I don't think that paints a complete picture - organisms experience and react to negative stimuli in so many different ways. IMO, what we're see

Pretty much this. Your "consciousness" is nothing but neural activity in your own brain. By definition, it cannot appear anywhere else but your brain.

Well, what does it mean for humans to "understand"? Don't humans understand things by altering the state and connections of neurons in the brain? You could make the argument that the brain is also an "incredibly sophisti

http://www.playcatan.com had a pretty good client... too bad it's not open for new registrations any more. They have Catan Universe now instead - not sure how good it is, though.

A good thought, but the problem is, the strata of society that will be affected the most by this kind of automation do not necessarily have the right skill-set to transition to these jobs that tackle these "nice to solve" problems

That might be the case now, but who's to say that won't change in the future? What will happen when robotics and computer vision advances to a point where employing a human on an assembly line doesn't make economic sense?

What is human intelligence, if not the result of a colossal, distributed function optimisation process driven by evolutionary forces over millions of years?
