Have you considered that higher orders of x are in fact smaller when x is near 0? The parent comment was right and you are wrong, around zero x^5 absolutely dominates x^7 and the big-O notation is used. See for example here [1] [1] https:&

Ok, I said I wasn't sure about the implementation, so I looked it up. In fact `isin` uses either hash tables or np.in1d (for larger sets, since according to pandas authors it is faster after a certain threshold). See https:/

I've also found that loops with dictionary (or set) lookups are a pain point in python performance. However, this example strikes me as a pretty-obvious pandas use-case: interesting = set(line.strip() for line in open('inter

The article describes that the cyclists don't see the car either because it is coming up on them from behind (at a 94 degree angle, with higher speed). You can't know you haven't made eye contact if you don't know they

There's something that must be mentioned here: there are multiple visions for what bitcoin should be. Probably with much oversimplification, but as unbiased as I can be: One side wants bitcoin to be a decentralized store of value, untr

Well, as my edit says, I've had success with installing anaconda on an other machine and copying the environment folder to the proper place inside the installation, but AFAIK that's not an officially supported way of doing it.

No, the intended way of cloning works by exporting the exact specifications to a text file and re-creating the environment from the text file. If you use packages from conda channels (which are repositories of packages), then it should work

Coming from a data science background, don't anaconda and environment description files [1] solve this problem with python? Not even sudo is needed to install anaconda and setup / clone environments, also it can manage python vers

You are reacting to something my comment doesn't say: that somehow segwit is not good enough. I only said it was somewhat controversial (which it is, for whatever reasons, didn't say it was technical) and that bitcoiners view it a

More choice always means more responsibility. You could argue against democracy with the same idea - what happens if the voters choose someone not worthy? A lunatic or someone downright malicious?

A somewhat controversial protocol upgrade developed for bitcoin. On the bitcoin network it has not reached the necessary support yet. Most bitcoiners view its activation on litecoin as a large scale beta test.

I think it's all about creativity. When you burn out, your creativity dries up. Most of programming (and generally thinking) is done by your subconscious, and when it says 'I've had enough of this, I'm not helping any mo

No, not really. The nash equilibrium occurs when nobody is able to achieve a better outcome for him/herself when assuming that noone else would change their strategy with him (no coordination). This is not neccessarily the best outcome
