I posted an ePub - https://github.com/pronoiac/explore-flask/blob/add-epub/asse... - though no pull request, because I'd already filed a related PR. Wait, should I file another?

Not bad! Did you use rst2pdf or go through TeX? I'm trying to decide where to upload my ePub to - the main Github repo, or the exploreflask.com repo. Thoughts?

Ok, I added some background on prerequisites for building HTML and ePub, and filed a pull request.

Heh - I was doing that! I tried building the HTML version under Ubuntu 12.04, failed, and I'm working on getting 14.04 up and running. Edit: I hadn't seen the email text about Sphinx, so it was news that he'd been working on

I'm surprised there's no epub version. (It reflows more nicely on my phone.) Is this something others have an interest in, an oversight, or intentional?

No, fail2ban watches logs for repeatedly failed login attempts, and then blackholes given IPs using firewall rules. I prefer denyhosts, which is more ssh-specific.

Speaking of video, I wonder how much grain came from the camera sensor - I'd start with some denoising, just to try to knock that out.

It really helps with accessibility! Captioning helps elsewhere, too, and there are other methods - we've gotten crowdsourced transcripts of the Metafilter Podcast by using Fanscribed[1], and it's been appreciated. [1] https:/

Sure, network bandwidth is an issue, and getting a fast enough connection at a mall might be interesting. What's also fun: USB speeds. I found a transfer time calculator - http://techinternets.com/copy_calc - and, well

I'd thought that being able to use different-sized drives was a selling point, for piecemeal upgrades, but the article says to never mix sizes across vdevs or spools. You can upgrade the capacity of a pool, but you have to upgrade each

I'll say that reading about the ext3 to btrfs conversion made me laugh - it's a mad scientist thing that builds all the btrfs pointers in the ext3 free space, pointing to the data blocks as stored by ext3, and it keeps the filesys

I've done a bit of work building a complex Excel spreadsheet, because that was the job - and what I wanted afterwards was an automated way to turn it into a Python script. Collaborating in Excel is tricky - it was a large enough spread

Oh! It's the author of Blindsight! That spaceship facing aliens with a vampire novel. It's memorable - it was a Hugo nominee, and I highly recommend it: http://www.rifters.com/real/Blindsight.htm

If memory serves, someone built this with a semi-automated account, he got some (to him) surprisingly heated criticism from the community, and he stopped.

Ugh. I think it would be better if revocation covered the public key instead of the serial number. (I'll ignore CRL bandwidth costs and the questionable usefulness of revocations.)

The "cjdns" in the headline links to: https://github.com/cjdelisle/cjdns It looks like TOR with a GPG/PGP web of trust.

That's a network-centric OS? But won't they typically be used in bandwidth-constrained places? I was going to worry about how much memory was required, but it looks like Android 4.4 can work with 512 meg of RAM.

No, though Rez is awesome. This was a PC game, with the polygons in columns, and if you entered the columns, you'd float along. You'd have to jump from one to the next, in mid-air.

The spinning floating brightly colored polygons is reminding me of a game, whose name escapes me. I think the soundtrack was ambient, based on your movements. I should look for that.
