Many car stereos actually send the play signal when they connect to a device. My Alpine unit did this, as does my Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. Also guilty: 2014 Ford Focus ST and Ford Fiesta ST I tried, as well as a late model Mercedes ML500.

Windows has the auto-boot disabling built in - msconfig in XP and above, or it's built into task manager on 8 and 8.1. Removing tricky software can be done by crap cleaner and/or hijackthis

I think the extra 180 pixels of vertical resolution is what he's worried about. I am too, that little bit helps a lot, even with the dock hidden and off to the side of the screen.

I have experienced this on several spinning rust-based Macs (with multiple drives that pass SMART and several other types of tests) over the past decade as well as occasionally on SSDs. It's HFS+ or some sort of other OSX issue.

For the rainy season around here (FL,) I got a cheap set of bearings and put some lithium grease in them to keep the water out. The grease will eventually wear the bearings down but it definitely keeps them from rusting, and they actually
