No, you don't. If it's a split with one other person, you get 2/3 instead of 1/2, that's only 33% more. If it's a split with two other people, that's 2/4 instead of 1/3, which is only 50% more. e

What if those people had more to lose by pulling out than pretending nothing happened as long as the 51% attacker does not abuse it "too much"?

With a finite range, you can bisect directly by splitting in the middle of the range. With infinite ranges, you can't do that; so the usual way is to start with a small number and increase exponentially until you find a number that is

I've been renting servers at Scaleway Dedibox (formerly Online.net) for years, with free unlimited bandwidth. I can be pretty bandwidth-intensive for a few weeks at a time (eg. rebalancing a storage cluster) and never had any trouble.

`curl | sudo bash` is for the non-technical people who may have just sshed into a server for the first time. If you don't put it front and center, they will be lost. The experienced sysadmins such as you and I can skip the paragraph an

I used to have two odroid HC2s in my Ceph cluster. They worked fine with a line in the config to cap their RAM usage. My home connection (100Mbps) was the bottleneck, not the HC2s themselves. Unfortunately Ceph stopped supporting 32-bits AR

The Rockpro64 comes with a PCIe x4 port; and it works well with a M.2 NVMe adapter. You could try it with a double M.2 adapter, but I'm not sure what speeds you can get with those.

Note that Ceph only supports 64-bits ARM, not 32-bits ARM. They removed binaries for the latter from their website, and the armhf port in Debian has a critical bug if you have non-armhf hosts in your cluster. https://bugs.debian.
