I agree, but this also in opposition to the prevailing (maybe cultural) drive for everyone to live their own life . Most people I know wouldn't want to live with their parents or their inlaws. Most parents don't want their grow

This. My wife went half crazy from sleep deprivation when our baby was about 1 month. One time both she and our daughter fell asleep after late night feeding. I went to make a sandwich, and when I came back my wife was crying in bed trying

The hunting example seems wrong. As you say, low frequencies carries well but are more undirected. For driving hunts (? don't know the english term: where a large party fan out to drive the animal before them, towards a smaller killing

You did not waste that money if it helps you exercise. The body needs to move to stay healthy. Never mind the weight, get your heart going a couple of times a week. When this is a habit, start to push a little. I think you will find that yo

Cortex a7 is whats used on some raspberry pi boards, kind of overpowered for IoT I would think. Maybe as a hub device. Unless you go Juicero kind of cracy.

I would use EF core (code first) even if my app wasn't in dotnet. Migrations and deployments just. work.

I like spotify (I pay for the service) but I dont like anything about this. I don't like that spotify are doing "podcasts". For me, poscasts are the last (popular) vestiges of the old web. I wish they would remain platform-fr

If PIC programmers/debuggers didn't cost about the same as a months rent, or at least didn't use proprietary Windows-only drivers... I love PIC stuff too but jesus they make it hard to choose their stuff for hobby work.

No, sure, as a kid who was very much in to techno music the Atari ST was much admired for it's MIDI capabilities. Any actual MIDI gear was very much out of the price range for my parents and for anyone I knew. We had a setup in the mus

Sure! Re-capping is a thing though. Vintage computer enthusiasts will sometimes desolder the old electrolythic capacitors in their machines and replace them with new ones. Apparently 70:ties and 80:ties era caps go bad after 40 years or so.
