I'm perfectly willing to forgive some hubris if their claims turn out to be accurate. Watson and Crick are not a great choice of role model for good character.

Had a valet ignore a huge, printed instruction taped over my steering wheel on how not to food my car (leave it running for at least 60 seconds). Sure enough, they flooded it really bad trying to start it over and over. Killed the battery.

In one of my old cars I reach down under the dash and partially unplug the clutch switch. Prevents any starting because the car thinks you've forgotten to press the clutch in. You'd need to know that one connector is a bit too far

It can do full text search (subtitles, comments) right in the ui. It seems to be designed for large scale backups. I use it for a couple hundred important to me or likely to be removed videos and it works excellent, too. Would have preferre

Putting my hat in this ring, too. I do a write-only sync of pictures from my phone to my NAS (upload new files and leave them on the phone - I prefer one way sync), and a mailbox-style sync of Signal backups (Signal can be configured to dro

I'm not the op but posted about my own text system. In short, I never used images in my notes even when adding them was easy, so I saved myself the trouble of having to deal with rich document formats. With the goal of portability and

Quickly check the last note to remember what I was doing? Often. Search through? Rarely, maybe once a month. The times I do though it's really helpful. I realized I was forgetting lots of semi important things that had no default place

Hmm that's interesting. My notifications niche is filled by my home assistant setup, but that's lacking persistence.

Agree with the plainest-of-plain-text approach. For me, the more structured the note system, the less it is used. I have a simple script called `n` that operates on a `notes.txt` on my NAS. If given arguments, it appends a timestamp and the

Some fuel systems are pressurized these days, running cars with such a system opened up to the air will cause warnings to be displayed on the dash. Probably fine but may cause confusion/unneeded mechanic visits. I personally will conti

Another avenue for this is to use Tube Archivist, which takes the approach of locally mirroring videos and serving them up in a web interface, complete with comments, subtitles, and an index containing all the above. Definitely overkill if

Can confirm, this was the exact situation in my 2004-built townhome. Everything came into my bedroom closet. Learned how to terminate Ethernet, stuck a switch in there, and had a great home net.

My homeplug setup (yes, same phase) was even less reliable than WiFi for me in my small townhome. Ymmv. Got Ethernet everywhere now.

If the power was out, how did ground engineers know what the temperature inside the station was? My guess is that they could calculate absorbed and emitted energy and figure it out that way, but I'd be curious to know for sure.
