Yeah but pointer + nil also have issues: https://go.dev/doc/faq#nil_error I've also seen APIs that allow returning both error and a value ("something went wrong, but here is a fallback or something") whi

Yup, don't allow nonsensical states (User+Exception or None+None) to even exist. The original is more like Go approach which is a big flaw with the language.

It might be surprisingly cheap. Prague was doing DNA matching on dog poop in the streets to fine owners for not cleaning up. I think there were some problems from people breaking the poop bins and scattering the contents everywhere to reduc

Vaccination campaigns are great but can you explain how you can declare countries rabies free without doing the same for their land neighbors? Last time I checked there were no border checks for foxes crossing from France, Poland etc. :) Is

OK I suppose that is what GP meant with the first category - if there is no congestion but your physical layer is dodgy this can indeed help. But if many people start using it this will fail on congestion (and even if there is little conges

I don't think you even get faster transfers, at least beyond some short term gain. You will overload some router on the path and just increase packetloss for everyone without improving your goodput. Maybe my intuition is wrong but ther

Hey, thanks for commenting. I'm a big fan of your transparency and don't get me wrong, I like the product and the price is certainly better than the "enterprise" gear. But I personally don't care about support, the

I like this project but the hardware seems quite overpriced at $300+. Similar for tinypilotkvm.com. In the past I've considered making and selling a cheaper version. Aside from lack of time (or motivation), one thing which discouraged

I like the iCEBreaker board, relatively cheap (80 euro), uses the digilent Pmod interface for add-on boards and the Lattice FPGA works well with OSS tooling (Yosys, Icestorm, ... for me this is a deal-breaker as I hate the proprietary IDEs)

Where I'm from, votes are hand counted by committee of multiple people in each voting district and anyone else can come and observe the process. You can't commit large scale fraud this way. And the results are available within 12

There is a more readable state table but each underscore separates a group of transitions for one symbol, writen as groups of 3 characters for each symbol. These are the symbol to write, new state and direction to move. The --- state halts.
