I was disappointed in that one unfortunately. Too much name dropping of random pieces without offering any insights why they are needed. You learn much more just skimming through a wiki article.

Site appears to be russian propaganda. (Article about Ukrainian history claims "it doesn't have one" and just goes on and on about it belonging to russia). Flagged.

I mean they should, film can get damaged too. The reason they don't are probably because it would be too expensive, bulky and film is single-use so also wasteful. Even hobby level DSLRs have two card slots with option to write to both.

All my coworkers who mainly used AWS before say that. I agree with you, but my AWS experience is quite limited, so what do I know. But I feel like being used to something + grass being greener on other side both play a big role in these opi

Maybe because there is evidence of fossil companies doing exactly that since the sixties? Benefit of doubt has it's place but this is just naivety or outright trolling.

I mainly use GCP but keep hearing how great AWS is in comparison. Imagine my surprise when porting some GCS code to S3 last year and realizing there is no way to get consistency guarantees without external lock service.

Also in spreadsheet you can do proper computation, reference other values, make VLOOKUPs. So much better than YAML where the entire ecosystem seems to pretend there isn't a need for abstraction in configs.

Redis as ephemeral cache is ok, but nothing extra. Redis as transactional, distributed and/or durable storage is pretty poor. Their "active active" docs on conflict resolution for example don't fill me with confidence gi
