I would also like to see this comparison. And for good measure it’d be great to also include Versatiles in this comparison.

It's been a while since I used OnlyOffice, can't really speak to its performance. I think mostly the sluggishness comes from some input delay in the browser. When you open a Collabora Calc document and select any random cell, it j

In my opinion it’s not a good alternative if you or your team members expect exactly the same quality of service. When you switch to Nextcloud you’ll have to expect more bugs, less reliability, less performance and obviously more maintenanc

How about you give it a try first? It uses about 1/4 of resources as Nextcloud in my experience, is a lot faster and has a way nicer UI.

Performance of the S3 backend was pretty bad compared to local storage folders on the same host, last time I checked.

There’s OCIS now, which is a very good alternative if you’re only looking for a file sync solution (without all the App platform aspects of Nextcloud)

You can also host it yourself, but what ESS offers is a combination of multiple discrete services. You’re gonna have to host Synapse itself, the Matrix Authentication Service (for native OIDC), Element Call (which requires LiveKit) and Elem

I think many of these features are fantastic and Matrix 2.0 is a great set of features. However I think Element X is still missing quite a number of features for (my personal) daily use (e.g. spaces, threads and roomlist). Also it's no

Yes, it's included (and enabled by default) since v1.114.0, which came out 3 weeks ago. It's a modified version of Sliding Sync (called Simplified Sliding Sync), but it works just the same. So you can deprecate/shut down exis

Can anyone shed light on the timeline behind the rollout of the Temporal API? I've been reading about it for many years, and it's always "soon" or "right around the corner". I'm kind of annoyed by all this

Oh the irony of this article being covered by a consent screen that starts with: „We & our 735 technology partners ask you to consent to the use of cookies to store and access personal data on your device.“

I don't know anything about audio jacks, but on the Docs page, there is an image, where the audio jack is labelled as "3.5mm TRRS Audio Jack".

Same here. I enjoyed Traefik for being able to use docker tags for my reverse proxy configuration. The mechanism is great, however I did not like Traefiks internal config structure. Caddy is much easier for me to understand and matches my (

Agree. The "reality distortion field" around Nextcloud fans is second to none. I hear it being touted as a replacement for Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Docs, OneDrive, Office 365, etc. Unfortunately it's none of those.
