The DSA was not written overnight. The agreement was made in 2022, the text is from 2020, preliminary versions probably available years before that. And even without having the exact wording Apple must have known their anticompetitive behav

It’s a remote job offering so it must be networked somehow. Probably behind VPN and Remote Desktop though.

Google marketed Google Workspace (called “Google Apps” at the time) as a solution for individuals and families with custom domain. People still have these accounts and there is no way to migrate (e.g. purchases on Google Play, reviews on Go

Why do you care if other people „start using the Facebook spyware store“? No one is forcing you to use another store. Android has alternative app stores and you can still use the Google Play Store for everything if you want to.

This. Outage started 30 minutes ago and the status page is still not updated. Either everyone is asleep at Netflix or the chain of command for this task is too long.

They canceled their plans for client-side scanning. They do scan content on their servers. Therefore whether your data in iCloud Photos is scanned depends on whether Advanced Data Protection is enabled or not. It’s disabled by default. En

I have a friend who lost data with Backblaze’s backup product. It can always happen. Don't trust a single provider or software. Backups should not be “integrated”, they should be as much apart as possible.

Synology NAS can already do this without any third-party products via the ActiveBackup application. Supports Google Workspace and MS 365. It’s free, assuming you already own the Synology NAS. It replicates data from Mail, Contacts, Calendar

Doesn’t mean your apps need to run in the background all the time. State restoration is a concept that has been present in Android/iOS from the beginning (or almost) and many apps implement it successfully. This is not why the “Don’t k

Priority should be to make the browser usable. It's not. For example it’s extremely unstable for video conferencing. Last time, I don’t know what exactly happened, but I had to reboot my MacBook because the system wouldn’t recognize th

I believe Safari will improve though. Currently Apple has little incentive to put more money into Safari because there’s no competition. Once they have to open up iOS to competition, they’ll spent more money on Safari to stay competitive. T

I think OP’s point was that Google Maps prioritizes profitable POIs over useful POIs. Profit over UX. Whereas Apple Maps seems to do the opposite in this case. If I’d have to choose between seeing ads by default or the content that I actual

In big airports, such as FRA, it can take 50 minutes to walk to the gate (if you’re lucky enough to have your gate in terminal 1). Checking the map is useful to see the estimated walking time and to get an overview of the route if you’re no

It works better because iOS had this for many years and apps implement it natively. Android's implementation is basically a workaround. The back gesture is recognized by the system and forwarded as back button event to the app. On iOS

Don’t know if this is still the case but back when Reddit was open source they would keep the comment in the database on deletion, but using the edit feature you could actually remove the content from the db.
