I agree that grandparent is wrong in their statement about the ability to express sounds. I don't, however, understand why you would need support for unicode chars in the source code. To support unicode identifiers? Why would we want t

I could not agree more, it's rare to write a program where you know all the dependencies, libraries you will use and the overall effect to other parts of the program by heart. So, gradual design process is best. I would point out, thou

Thank you for the explanation. What I don't like about this, is that we take the observations, apply some custom guesses as to why the spacetime is folded differently and... there you go, your formulas now match. It smells too much lik

One reason for dark matter explanation that I heard is that it is used to explain the same angular speed of star systems in the galaxies. To me, that seems far fetched. Would it not be more likely that our formula for large distance gravity

The problem I have with dark matter is the name. If I understand it correctly, its existence cannot be predicted. We observe strange results, so we explain it by inventing some strange new concept of mass that's otherwise non interacti

I don't agree. Women, in general, don't find men attractive because of intelligence. It's other factors more like, whether their life is in order, they are fit, or the classic, if they are symmetrical. So, we are visually, ma

Well, it's never random, is it? It's only random when all is equal, otherwise it's biased. That's why it works. Consider birds. There was a good article a few days back, on why only non-toothed birds survived. Until the

I agree with the sentiment. I also heard of some books that say stupid things like humans have not yet reached the maximum of human evolution. Of course we have not reached the end of our evolution. That will exist only when we are all exti

To me, it sounds like science at its finest. Only what works, survives, regardless of the politics, i.e. what others think of it.

No. From the webpage: > Oolite is inspired by the 8-bit classic Elite, and many aspects of gameplay will be familiar to players of that game. Ogame is a very different kind of game.

Just put "asking for a friend" and you are good to go. Just kidding, of course. I agree 100%. More problematic, I think, is that everyone is using it. So, somebody else might put some sensitive information about you into the AI. K

The top 1 percentile was a gross understatement that I should have removed immediately ;) I agree with many commenters. I would, however, like to point out that 20th century had many, many great minds, also working in the same timeframe. Cl

That's somewhat true, however the way the math is taught has changed. Anecdottally, my father was only introduced to vectors and vector based calculations when at the uni. My generation was taught vectors in primary school already. I t

Thank you for the write-up! I did not know I have been erroneously omitting commas in English. In Slovenian, my native language, commas always delimit clauses in a sentence. We got that from German, which got it from Latin. I still don'

Sure, but said politicians should make sure such investments start happening today. We won't be able to do it in a couple of years' time. So, what I am missing from these laws are explanations how they intend to tackle it.

I agree that we have to reduce the carbon emissions. I am wondering, though, if we started at the right place. More electrical demands will further cause building new power plants, but none of them come without another, different impact. Sa

To be fair: to build whole companies would not cost multiples of 8B but multiples of 150B. And if you really wanted to cover all "critical" industries, even this would be a drop (or maybe a puddle) in the ocean.

Genuine interest: why is the title considered clickbaity? I understand that the automated system transformed it and in this case would consider the automation to be wrong, however I don't really see the article itself as clickbaity.
