The value just isn’t there for $12. This is just developers being greedy as their cost is nowhere near $12. Compare this to other things and the value yielded is nowhere as near as better purchases.

The most amazing thing about my travels in Africa, specifically Uganda, is that things I would never expect to work, work. The people are so innovative and resourceful that I think things that would be scams (handing a laptop to a stranger

I mind ads and don’t think sites would go away. They’d just be less profitable. I mind ads because they crowd out less profitable margins and result in worse products. Imagine how nice and useful Google could be if they optimized for search

I’ve met people who enjoy lots of gross things. That doesn’t make the things gross to me, or the vast majority of humanity. My guy take is that they are mindrotted by ads into thinking they are good for them. Digital Stockholm Syndrome. Or

Wisprflow is not $12/month better than ios. I’d much rather have “cheap, dependable, and good enough” over oligarch pricing for what used to be a one time software purchase any day.

I turned off my iphone’s autocorrect because it made too many stealth errors. Now I notice all my mistypes. I have a friend named Zi in my contacts. For some reason ios kept autocorrecting “I” to “Zi” and would do it too far back for me to

Even without tactile elements it was two keys to use function keys. I would have been fine with the touchbar if it just default displayed function keys. Hitting fn+f5 to quicksave is annoying.

Sexual practices don’t need to be degenerate to transmit ebola. Ebola is detectable in semen for a year or longer. [0] So, first, have sex with people you know well enough to know whether they recently recovered from Ebola (pretty rare), an

You can recycle the parts in an phone for prolly at least 20-100. Plus apple watch, airpods, etc. I’m think the average pedestrian carries more cash equivalents than at any time in history.

I think its better to lodge displeasure by placing sticky notes instead of destroying. It decreases camera usefulness and I’m not quite sure it’s a crime.

Apple could be profitable with the App Store covering everything. But they make more profit with high hardware margins AND the app store. I’m pretty sure they could give phones away for free and cover it from AppStore purchases.

There’s a pretty big difference as Apple can’t access the data stored in iDrive. Only you can locally. Big difference from google and microsoft where everything you type and do is being tracked and fed into ads.
