Twitch have their own custom IRC servers and not part of IRC.com/London trust media. They have been watching out on the IRCv3 group to ensure they implement IRC correctly though in the past.

Yes, currently we’re putting full time dev resources into Inspircd to bring it up to date with newer IRCv3 features so that we can showcase what IRC is capable of these days. Once the Foundation has been setup further down the line then we

As the CEO of IRC.com, I can say that Mark Karpeles has nothing to do with the project nor does he have access to any of the infrastructure IRC.com runs on. His work goes towards other projects that London Trust Media has running. I’ve been

We're actually putting together a Websocket spec at the moment for IRCv3. There has been a few experiments and an implementation that has been getting used more frequently has proven to be helpful here. https://github.com&#x

I wouldn't take this as a sincere gesture. So many people say this in the public eye just to save face without any intention to take it further. I realise I'm replying in context of Sir_Cmpwn specifically (and I have had my own in

Most use a websocket library like sockjs or socket.io which uses websockets and falls back to long polling if there's an issue with that. Some IRC servers are starting to implement native websockets but that introduces several issues,

(kiwiirc IRC client dev here) This type of thing is down to the clients to put into place and we actually do this now. Drag/drop files, pasting images directly into the client, 1GB files supported, right out of the box. Give it a try!
