I think you're right. They know the future will be something like this. And that it's critical they're in the middle of it. They've likely mapped out early-adopter sales and figured it helps justify announcing now and ge

There are always going to be people richer or poorer on the scale when debating something like this. Someone might spend $3500 for a week away reading beside a pool and have largely forgotten about it six months later. I've wastefully

I wonder if it could be legislated so that if you provide a product monetised by advertising, you need to provide a paid alternative (at a reasonable price) for those who'd rather avoid ads. And remove options where you get ads in a pa

Assuming there is no legal issue, the opportunities would be to shame them with publicity like this, or make your opinion clear by reviews. Reviews will forewarn other users and (potentially) sway future behaviour of the product creator.

What's behind MidJourney, and how has it not been matched/defeated? There's a lot of interest in the space and money to be made, and MidJourney proves that quality results are possible. Is it because of the sheer costs or a s

This reminds me of people who gripe about sports rumours in forums about rumoured player signings. If you're not interested in speculation about hardware not yet freely in the hands of users, why not leave it to people who find that di

I think they'll inevitably introduce this down the track. The idea that you can set up a workspace as fixed to a particular place. Sit on the couch, and by default it has media apps and a big screen. Put it on in your office, and you c

Could be that they're leaving it (and gaming/etc) for developers. They largely showed core stuff only at this point. The platform launch was very locked down. For incremental hardware upgrades, they put hardware in the hands of de

The Quest headsets seem pitched for fitness-type games as much as anything else, whereas this pushes the higher resolution for workspace and content consumption. Here is a thread about someone using one on a flight: https://www.r

It looks like you either dial up/down the immersion, so you could always see people at the fringes, or the passthrough would mean you could see someone like a steward appearing to get your attention.

I agree! What they should do is launch this at a developer event and provide some information and tooling, then get out of the way so that developers can release games through a proven distribution method with free/freemium/paid&#

Your laptop needn't be in front of you. You just need space for a keyboard and mouse/trackpad. That's "Stable Table" size, so works on the couch, dining table, kitchen bench, outside table, etc. Without relocating y

Depth of desks could go from 2-3' to 1'. Offices could fit more desks. But I think we'll see people using these with virtual displays, and then co-workers' personas bleeding in from the periphery. Companies will go from

Not to mention that they pause constantly for in-flight announcements about duty free shopping, donating unused international currency, tray tables, dimming cabin lights, etc. That alone makes it worth bringing your own content on tablet or

Anyone who flies a lot will be able to use it as advertised now for entertainment and work. And this is WWDC. They’re getting this in front of developers to build the first third-party apps. Years ago, we applied to get Apple TVs for $1 an

I like this idea, but how or what? The power brick is obviously critical, but I'm guessing they want you to put it in your pocket or on the desk or bed/sofa and largely forget it's there?

Interesting thoughts about EyeSight. I agree that if I were using/wearing this, I would not care about the ability for others to see my eyes and gauge my reaction. This could've been added to a subsequent version of the device. Bu
