Agree. We actually tried getting GitHub Copilot to work with Jupyter but GH doesn't have an official API. We actually took some time to reverse engineer an implementation from neovim GH Copilot extension [1] and from Zed [2] but found

We're just a fork of Jupyter so everything - notebook files, keybindings, extensions, settings should just work. We pull all of your config from the ~/.jupyter folder so you should be able to switch between Jupyter and Pretzel f

I highly recommend everyone try it out if you're in SF. It's an incredibly smooth and sure ride. The cars are really nice too (Jaguar I-Pace electric cars), clean and spacious. The first time you ride in one, it feels truly sci-fi

100% agree here. Claude is especially good at larger context sizes and retains coherence way longer than GPT-4 series of models

This is amazing - I far prefer the personality of Claude to GPT-4 series models. Also, with coding tasks, Claude-3-Opus and been far better for me vs gpt-4-turbo and gpt-4o both. Looking forward to giving it a spin. Seems like it's d

Like the sibling comment says, you typically have to pay for the premium model (and believe me, they are miles ahead of the free stuff - free copilot uses gpt3.5 which is a full 2 generations behind). The other way is to get an API key fr

People have tried this! And for not-complex problems, the newer models do give the right answer and yet usually fail on the complex tasks. Prompting does help though - if you ask the model to check it's own answer, it can often catch e

You're right of course. Let me rephrase. What I was trying to say was: If the model solves some reasoning tasks that may imply it's building some inner world model which is fundamental to reasoning. That in-turn might mean tha

This is an interesting thought exercise! The theory goes - that if the model "understands" this scenario, then internally, it has has created something that models the real world. Another interesting bit of experiment people did

The criminals absolutely will move away to something that is outside government control. Many such apps already exist and you can run what you like on Android phones with custom ROMs. Think about it - if you're a criminal, and you kn

Not sure how to cross-post here but I think it's a losing game. EC can keep proposing the same law once every year and at some point they will get an EP that approves it. Repealing is impossible unilaterally by the EP. It's an eve

EP is a fundamentally a weaker body than its name suggests. The European Council can keep proposing pretty much the same law over and over again until they get a pliant EP that will accept it. Once accepted, it's almost impossible to r

I love how Europe with all it's GDPR laws (even binding on the government in many cases) and specifically Germany and it's Datenschutz-fixated citizens is sleepwalking into DDR era authoritarianism. Stasi's wet dreams couldn&

I’m not sure if I’m parsing your sentence right but surely you can’t be implying that autonomous driving isn’t possible or that it is some undermined time away? You can come down to SF and take a waymo today. It works great.

Thanks! We're different in a couple of ways: - You don't need SQL to transform and manipulate data in Pretzel - we have visual blocks where you can construct a transform chain (though we do support manual SQL blocks now!) - We hav

Thanks! Yes, we're going to build the make modern data tool with a low barrier to entry (so non-devs, non-data folks can use it) but that also works great for power users (a way better jupyter notebook, with modern IDE like capabilitie

Datasette was definitely a huge influence for this and I'm a big of @simonw and his work. However, there's a couple of major differences: - Datasette - to me - is a tool for devs - it takes a fair bit of tech know-how to understan
