If you are fine with overpaying a little bit go to a local shoe store, or even a REI. They will help you get a good fitting shoe.

My friends and I were joking before that Olympics that organizing it was just writing a bunch of letters. To Wimbledon for tennis courts, to FA for Wembeley, etc. Others were probably building from scratch.

My last interview loop I got the feeling that some companies just say it's 'close' to get you to apply again in 6 months. Unless they give actionable, solid feedback (FB always does, at least with me), I consider it a binary.

When I graduated, Google/Amazon/FB/MS, I knew people were smart and the job would be okay at the very least. How should I have gone about figuring out which ones are "a startup with smart leadership". I remember b

He might done something against the guidelines on HN, but the way to counter it is not by violating the guidelines yourself. That's what the downvote button is for.

Can't you hold on to the shares even after you leave? Why would you have to sell your shares when they are newly vested? Especially if you chose to have 40% deducted right away.

I had a 1-hr each way car commute for about 6 months, and gave up on FM really quickly. Too much repetition, even on the Bollywood channel. I got Sirius XM, and loved it, except for the (somewhat) shady billing practices.

I hope they're doing well. We got a car from them few months ago, it was so much better than going to the dealer.

I (as a non-green account but not a very old one) sometimes feel it's difficult to express my opinion on this website about Facebook, Uber, Amazon and AirBnB. My comments typically go negative for a bit without comments, then maybe th

He could've not said the noob comment in the end, but I hope his comment doesn't get flagged. The author could've read some AWS docs in the time he wrote this post.

I came to the same conclusion too, but I felt the blogs left a good taste in the end rather than raising questions in my mind. I was surprised at the number of "retreats" the team seems to have had though, maybe that's baked

It's possible your surprise is regional. Rackspace has had success with that branding (though it's ironic to discuss that in this article).

Because the general public at large is not the one suffering from copyright violation? The affected parties are the ones that should be polled; but I agree that we might not agree on who is really affected.

I'm think simultaneously improving pedestrian facilities while making penalties on jaywalking harsh is an okay idea, especially if the goal is 100% compliance.

could you explain what's bizarre about the branding? Do you not like the word 'fanatical'? (which just means 'filled with excessive and single-minded zeal'/'obsessively concerned with something.').

I didn't downnvote you, and I think your point is very true. I wish people had found it less insulting so there could've been discussion. There are many that need help, and many that want a certificate calling themselves backward.

"I know Amazon AWS has most of their core engineering talent in Austin" Err, I don't think so. Many good companies have an Austin office though, in addition to companies hq-ed there.
