I’m frankly shocked you can’t comprehend that there could be a difference between my personal experience and overall opinion and perspective of the war. Yes it was an absolutely pointless monumental disaster with incredible suffering. No sh

I agree. I don’t really understand the point in being a terminal maximalist. Yes, I do 90% of my work in vi or ssh and that’s what I prefer. Checking my email or chatting though, why bother? The company pays for outlook and slack, I’d just

Alternate perspective: I was in Iraq and Afghanistan, I don't talk about it because theres not much to say. I was either standing or sitting some place on guard duty, wired up on an insane amount of caffeine and nicotine, trying not to

Oh yeah when I worked at Oracle they'd do these kinds of shakedowns even on stuff people were paying to host. This was pre OCI though, dunno if they're still doing it. Felt like something the mob would do. Nice company you have th

UTM implements VF and QEMU implements HVF as an accelerator. I don't know why theres so much circling the wagons about them itt, these are complementary technologies. VF and HVF are not competition or a replacement.

I usually just read it out loud if I need to remember it. Makes it more of an active, intentional process. This is also good for writing from my experience.

I’m wondering if having something like dnsmasq would be better in this situation over parsing a huge hosts file?

The Polestar 2 feels like what an 'Apple car' would be like, to me. It seems to have a giant Android tablet in the middle console. Looks pretty smooth and tasteful overall but I can't summon up any excitement for it.

My favorite use of 'startup' has been at giant dysfunctional orgs (like Oracle) where they structure a new product team to have a 'startup' culture. AFAICT they think it means using kanban boards and having standup meeti

IBM sells (sold?) a thing called the HMC that manages multiple AIX machines, and their LPAR/WPARs. It was a web interface, maybe that is what you remember? It had a dedicated 1U server you had to buy too lol, what a grift
