And? This is a complaint in the genre of "I had magical expectations and they weren't met because the world is complex and these problems are hard or impossible." It's like people complaining about us not having hoverboa

Buying stuff through QR codes is very common in India now. You can pay for everything from groceries to street food using QR codes. It runs off the government-sponsored UPI standard. However, AFAIK you need an Indian bank account to be able

I'm not making a case either way. I'm stating why I think this is being raised as an issue. You are absolutely right in that moving the conversation to be about the relationships of the two countries makes a big difference in how

People ascribe a different moral calculation for continuing to buy Russian oil and gas and newly buying Russian oil and gas. The end effect is the same, Russia gets money in return for its fossil fuels. But the rhetoric and the morality

If Disney can't make Luke Skywalker, one of their most iconic characters, look good in a show with a budget the size of the Mandalorian, I can't say I'm too worried for this technology yet. Everyday misinformation techniques

A feeling of progress is hard to convey to users if the iceberg is mostly invisible. I assume much of the work on Google Docs is harder to see like backend improvements/scalability, rendering compatibility across platforms, file-format

One issue with Markdown is that there's many flavors with subtle differences in parsing/interpretation. If you're looking to be able to parse the file in the future, you have to be careful to pick a flavor with wide support o

Twitter has the highest signal/noise ratio of any social media platform, for me. I've curated it so 1) I don't follow people I know in real life so I don't have to deal with their completely different ways of using Twitt

I've heard wonderful things about Dahab! I'd love to visit if I get to go back to Egypt. I didn't mind the overcharging too much when it was obvious. Like it was funny to me and the taxi driver that he was charging too much,

I went to Egypt a few months ago and was met with incredibly warm people, with perhaps even an excess of hospitality. Yes, you do get charged extra for being a tourist at the tourist spots. But that's only a small part of the country.

The greatness of Picasso's formal skills can be seen in one genre: his prints for the Vollard Suite. His lines are quick and delicate and invoke a whole body and its suppleness. The economy of line is astonishing.

There's an interesting push-and-pull here. Keep the existing dialect to make it easy to switch, or add differentiating features that may introduce dialect incompatibility. An issue as old as time for SQL DBs.

The US could issue special visas for workers in chip fabrication fields, but that'll probably anger our ally Taiwan. There's also top workers in South Korea and Japan, other US allies.

I think peak performance, even if it gets thermo-throttled quickly, is important. Web site JS parsing during loading is like that, and that's an essential function of my computer these days. And perhaps for bursty sections of AAA games
