If the same watermark is added to each image, then you can estimate the watermark by averaging many images and subtract it to get original image back. If each image has a slightly different watermark, then simple averaging won't work.

Only about 3.5% of radioactive material from one reactor was released (there were four reactors). Also no large city happened to be close enough downwind. Some of the areas within 30 km exclusion zone still have levels of radiation too high

Solar, wind, hydro do not affect the entire planet. Even burning fossil fuels might be ok, if combined with CO2 sequestration. But this is irrelevant. I'm just saying that you do a comparison, you need to take into consideration risks,

Advertisers would still win, though. Instead of showing you ads for 10,000 subjects of which one interests you, they are now showing you ads for 2 subjects of which one interests you. Much better targeting. And if they want to link your pro

In many cases the programmer could not have made the decisions. For example, AlphaGo programmers could not win against top go professionals, but AlphaGo can. With a simple model like credit score it's easy to see which input affects wh

Based on that information, what is the probability of a nuclear power plant accident making a large city near it uninhabitable?

So if you played Russian roulette a couple of times and lived, it must be safe, right? Probability is events over trials, zero events in two trials means probability of dying is 0/2=0%.

The point is not how many people have died, but how bad the impact can be. Even if nobody dies, the need to evacuate a large city like New York or Tokyo because a nuclear power plant nearby underwent rapid unplanned deconstruction might eas

Ballots are split in batches. Each ballot in a batch is counted twice, by two different people, and results are then compared. If the counts don't match, the batch is recounted.

It's much easier to attack such a system than to defend it. Attacker only needs a short window of time, so can emit a lot of power. "Smart" gun can't do that, it has to work for years on small battery, so its signal must

The main threat is that the gun does not fire when it should. As soon as those "smart" guns are mandated (they can't win on the merits, as nobody is buying them), there will be $5 gun jammers all over eBay.

It works the same way. 7720 in binary is 1111000101000. This is 13 bits. Square root is at most half as long, so first guess is 10000000 in binary, or 128. Square that, realize that it's too high, set the highest bit to 0 and next bit
