I would use online voting even if the system would be insecure. The advantages are just to great to ignore. Also, people seem to think that our current physical system is perfect. It's far from perfect.

>>Rails does overload Ruby's autoload (naturally - no core functionality can remain un-monkeypatched. ;-)) Are you sure about that? To me it seems that if you pass a path to autoload, it does work like ruby STL https://

Actually, rails overloads Ruby's autoload. So they do share some behavior. What rails does is it lets you only provide a module name and rails will try to find the path for you. Also, the class reloading is done through ActionDispatch:

I believe the problem with _every_ framework out there is that they focus too much on how they solve trivial problems and not enough on how you can use them in complex scenario. I think people are pissed when they start with a new framework

Blogging and open source is about giving back. And there's value in that. You open yourself to criticism from peers. Working in a Fortune 500 company doesn't tell me much about your coding skills, but it tells me a lot about your

Does the DOM Traversal performance issue has been solved from voyeur.js? (library this is forked from has documented performance hit: https://github.com/dunxrion/voyeur.js/issues/20 )

I agree that meal substitutes have existed for years before Soylent. But when I read their KickStarter campaign, it seemed like they wanted to remove meals completely. Maybe I didn't understand their mission.

I think people enjoy eating, but the tradeoff (cooking, having a good recipe, etc) is too big for them so they go for fast food, skip meal, etc. Could I be wrong?

Code snippets on Wordpress is plain awful, indentation & HTML escaping is a mess. I have to re-edit the same code snippet 2-3-4 times when writing a blog entry on WP. I'm sure it can get easier than WP.

That's actually a tough question. I haven't found a place yet to put up a development blog. Code snippet are always screwed up or you don't have analytics, etc. I took the extra mile on my blog and installed Wordpress on my s

I guess the main problem is that encryption is foreign to most of us (myself included). It's hard to understand what is safe from what isn't. It's also very hard to figure out if your encryption is bugged or not. I guess that

Yes we are very far away from the human brain on many levels. However, I don't like this kind of article because it doesn't make sense on the software level. Mathematically, we could figure out how much computing power we would ne

From a developer standpoint, I loathe our calendar/time system. The world has wasted shit load of time & money trying to fix stupid bugs with our time systems, I would welcome a more linear system.

Sometimes, it's good to encapsulate stuff into a class when you have a complex logic around a specific theme. It's not one or the other. It's one AND the other.

I believe that what he meant (Correct me if I'm wrong), is that instead of creating a system of classes that tries to abstract everything out of the DOM, it's better act on the DOM itself, via jQuery, Zepto.js, etc. In some ways,
