ULIDs are time ordered and CUID2s are random. So your decision should really be based on whether you want ordered IDs are not. Ordering is useful for transactional entities because you tend to operate on recent entities much more than older

I believe the prevalent advice at this time in fact is to go with UUIDs. They don't leak much information, prevent enumeration attacks and give you flexibility to generate anywhere. UUIDv7 even provides time ordering if index locality
