I already have a forever mouse. A Microsoft optical mouse from 20 years ago. Perfectly ergonomic, no batteries, plug-and-play that just works on any device new or old, and a build quality to last decades. How have we regressed from these ideals and gotten to where we are?

- fuzzfactor 2y agoWith a basic Logitech gaming mouse from a few years ago, it had the simple default RGB effects at all times, Windows, Linux, even DOS. Recently on Windows 11 there was a firmware update from Logitech and now the RGB is controllable from W11 built-in FX interface. But no more RGB at all when you reboot to Linux ever since. I thought that was going to last forever, guess I was wrong. Turned out to be quite a dark mouse most of the time.
