Wayland runs fine on my Ryzen 2500U (kernel 5.4, Debian 10) and on the Radeon RX 470 (kernel 4.19, Debian 10), both using AMDGPU.

Architecture emulation like QEMU provides is commonly used, just a matter of how much investment is made into backwards compatibility by those who build your operating system/platform. Apple works hard to break backwards compatibility

Mozilla DeepSpeech has streaming audio support as of a few releases ago, the word error rate has also improved. I would recommend looking at Vosk too, it converts speech to text much faster than Mozilla DeepSpeech while having slightly bett

Considering the Durbin Amendment capped debit card processing at 0.05% and $0.21 per transaction, and interchange pricing for credit cards ranges from 0.65% to 2.4% plus a few cents for the auth fee, it is pure profiteering that PayPal and

What issues have you had with Wayland? Switching to it has given me a tear free experience on both AMD & Intel laptops, besides that it performs similar to X11.

I have had a similar experience with my laptop that uses a Ryzen 5 Pro 2500U, it would crash once every couple days under Windows, but no such issue crops up using mainline drivers on Debian.

That would have been really helpful to know somewhere on the website. The website is rather context free, are users supposed to scan the QR code in an app (eg: FreeOTP+, Zoiper, etc) or just use it as a means to get a link for use in Safari

Based on the testing I just did with Vosk, Mozilla DeepSpeech, Google Speech to Text and Microsoft Azure, I disagree with your arugment that SaaS has the best quality results. Mozilla DeepSpeech was definitely trailing the bleeding edge, bu

DeepSpeech and Vosk can accept audio files, although each wants them formatted in a slightly different mono WAV format. See my other comment for a comparison of the two: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24248238

Comparing DeepSpeech v0.7.4 to Vosk using plain spoken English samples from male and female speakers, they seem to be performing the same if I use vosk-model-small-en-us-0.3 and the full size DeepSpeech model. When I use vosk-model-en-us-d

The cost of the labor to build and maintain said cable makes it economically infeasible for a second ISP to build out service in many areas of the US. Permissive regulation will only enable competition in urban cores, as being a 3rd or 4th

Mozilla DeepSpeech is rapidly maturing, but it needs thousands of hours of validated audio data to train each language. Its a feat that with only 2000 hours of audio they can achieve a 5.97% word error rate. Baidu had 5000 hours of audio da
