Agreed. But my argument was about the rising price of the hardware itself. If you install third-party apps on it, the software-side also becomes sort of moot? There are open-source alternatives, I’d never recommend Android for your set-top

Some climate models expect permafrost decay and/or mere GHG rise to erode the ozone layer. It’s not 1:1 proven, but there’s indication that in a post-4C world (with feedback loops), we might slowly lose our protection against the sun’s

GP literally addresses your points. I think we’re very welcoming in most of Europe, adopt others’ traditions, and are not too imposing. Just, you know, leave women alone and don’t aim fireworks at ambulances. Dismissing any amount of inte

It’s a hot topic, but in Belgium some people are taught how to take the bus, do their taxes, and not harass women. One of my Dutch teachers led the integration course and said this stuff was really difficult to land. If you come from a cult

Same as elsewhere. The notary fees in Belgium are why we deferred changing the cap table every time it needed doing, ultimately making some of the partners… not have any actual shares because it was too late. Notaries are like this everywhe

Right, you make a very valid point. I didn’t think of that. I assumed people were drafted to work for the SS like everywhere else in the ‘war machine’.

Artefact-based workflows solve this problem, and I think it’s more effective to go in that direction. I still have Claude Code because Opus makes good plans, but I hand the plan over to M3 on Pi with 99.9% cache hits on a long session. Love

Cute. Climate change’s apocalyptical impact on food crops and cancer rates (post-ozone collapse) never convinced people to enact change. But hey, it’s open-model LLMs, the boogeyman! Can’t have that, it must be OpenAI or Anthropic safely co

I don’t think they have the trust and platform stability to back up that price tag. But it’s always good to have more competition, so let’s see.

Maybe the point is to have more than 2 players in the mobile OS arena, especially if the American duopoly continues to force everyone’s hand.

I think you’ll find that it was mutually beneficial deal that traded soft-power for preferential agreements. As it started to crumble, we’ve begun diversifying and directed our schmoozing to better partners.

This isn’t about children, mate. It’s about controlling the population’s access to content. The children are fine. Many countries no longer allow smartphones at school, which lowers the peer-pressure factor to be online. Parents are doing t

You’ll find that many people don’t have 25k€ to invest in initial capital of a business, but that are perfectly capable of running a business regardless. 5k€ is fair for plenty of endeavours, and more should be required for riskier business

Sure, but the fees I pay for go to Visa for, among others, combatting fraud and credit card cloning. I filled up my bank’s paperwork, I don’t know the inner details of their relationship with Visa.

I don’t know if the distinction holds. The philosophical base of where you work goes is the same: fuelling the Nazi war machine. Building a machine that kills thousands isn’t that distinct from healing a soldier that kills dozens. Meh.

CC can waste reams of tokens indeed. Pi with hash-based replaces is very token-efficient. That plus cache headers for OpenCode Go and here I am, unable to hit the 5-hour limit unless I use GLM (which doesn’t cache). Anthropic’s incentive to
