I'd also suggest Berlin, but aren't they in berlin already? If so, I'd be interested to know why are they looking for yet another country? Sure, you need to know some German to get around, but otherwise berlin has a pretty go

I used to have a problem with readjusting window sizes and positions between the laptop and my 24" display until I discovered full-screen apps in the recent OS X. Now I just run the text editor full-scren on both

The title is disappointingly misleading — the actual features of command-line clients, i.e. auto-completion, variables, output-formatting are left out in favor of comparing SQL dialects for the most basic operations.

Anyone into contemporary classics? I really enjoy piano and cello music while coding, like Ludovico Einaudi, Brian Crain, Julia Kent, Zoe keating etc.

Yes, sorry, they are. They are not serving web ads though, nor we have a reliable account that they collect information from user's iCloud emails to enhance the relevancy of iAd ads.

Sorry, I was inaccurate, they do serve ads, but not web ads, and so far I don't have any reliable information stating that Apple scarps the contents of user's personal data to deliver more relevant ads in a way google does.

Apple's iCloud. It's free (up to 5GBs), no ads, and Apple is not in the ads business, hence, they have no use of your personal data (as opposed to Google). I have no idea how good are they in actually protecting your personal data, but I do

With new PostgreSQL major releases (latest one is 9.0 w/ embedded replication) its getting better and better. The community rocks and there are exciting new features coming to 9.1 (i.e. synchronous replication). Full disclosure: My daily jo

$3K is way above average in Moscow, and Moscow salaries are much bigger than anywhere else in Russia. To give a comparison, a salary of $1K per month is considered above average in most of the Russian cities, except for 2-4 largest ones.

What about Greece? Is, for example, 2000 EUR per month net a decent salary there?

I think we should also measure an average number of deaths caused by a single incident and the average number of deaths among strangers caused by a single incident. The incidents at nuclear plants are rare, but the consequences can be much

That's quite confusing. How can I tell that a profile is private vs public (which seems to be a default)?

As far as I can tell this statement is about a public profile. The private profile is essentially a google account, and I don't know a way to delete a google account and keep a gmail address associated with it.

I actually wonder what would happen to a google account without a public profile linked to a gmail address. IIRC deleting such account is impossible without deleting a corresponding gmail account. Loosing all your emails one day just becaus

I have a google account without a google public profile. I use it to access google reader and google wave (both are services used by my friends), as well as customizing google search behavior. I need to expose neither my real name nor my co
