The point of the article is that small technology changes can provide disporportionate value to the customer and your company (The best types of changes to make) and most commentors still feel it necessary to mention that its not really 3

One of the biggest requirements iOS was designed around was "don't trust lazy or shitty devs" and people still freak out about the huge amount of restrictions placed on apps. I'm not sure there is any winning.

What always bothers me is that without the source, I don't know if this is a phishing attempt. I don't like compounding security problems with more opaqueness.

Thats fine and I understand the advantages to open source. But if you're in the business of selling software (especially to end users and not b2b) like many people here claim to be, that isn't a valid concern or argument against a

So many people today are still harping on the security aspect (Not ~ free ~ software, you don't own the servers). How does that matter at all when selling to a large consumer base? How many customers of dropbox know what those words me

Can the experience being behind a wall garden buddy buddy with the NSA ever be truly good, ignoring superficial things like icons and launchers?

No you can't compare iOS 7 to android until you install my bespoke launcher and remove all the default icons and widgets and customize the phone! It's not fair picking both up out of a box and comparing the user experience.
