Oxidation processes are studied in various environments, important to understand in complex issues such as acid mine drainage . The chemical reactions are driven by a combination of biological (bacteria, eg.), physical, and chemical proces

Another big problem with these families of contaminants, is they are heavier than water. Contaminants such as oil, gasoline, and diesel, are lighter than water.(Called LNAPL- light non aqueous phase liquids.) and therefore float on water. S

There is a lot of testing available, that would be very good to have the results for, especially in our food. Heavy metals are easy. A little more expensive are the organic compounds: think herbicides, fungicides, insecticides. There is no

In case anyone is looking for a great chemistry tutorial series, there is a fellow in YouTube, he also has Apple and Google apps, called Chemguy. I saw a few kids using it for high school help, and even though I studied and worked as a chem

Try adding magnesium to your diet or with vitamins. Takes about 6 months, but seems to help, even after 25 years of shaking legs. Obviously there are other reasons why we might have an absence of magnesium, but in the between time, that see

I think the first question, as mentioned, in one of the previous comments, is your location. There are many opportunities in smaller, distant communities that don't have grid service, or don't have good, grid service. Those are pl

Nothing beats cast iron. They aren't hard to take care of.(In spite of the rhetoric.) Actually easier, once you get a good surface on them. Pots, frying pans, woks, etc. They work very well. The most important thing is to give them tim

The world, is full of goodness, hope, progress and humour. But, you need to accept that in between all the media (news) that focuses on the negative, and bad noise. Look at a parent playing with a kid, look at a kitten, look at a doctor, lo

However, there is a great movie out there, that proves he not only was a great guitar player, but also invented roll and rock! It's called "Young Einstein". It's a great movie. (Comedy?)

I would think that the sanctity of "the mail" was observed internationally. Mail was opened only secretly, and by spies, and spying was always considered a dishonourable profession. So even if opened, it would have been done secr

This reminds me of voice dictation history. I remember using dragon and other upstarts, on a 486dx notebook. I could discuss with the laptop, ask instructions, receive answers, and control verbally all options, actions, and programs. At th

If you collected a soil sample (a few spoons of dirt from 5-8 places in your garden, put in s plastic baggie.) Then get it tested - ask for a 32 element ICP. It's fairly cheap, 10-20$USD, gives you a run down of those 32 elements, and
