Android Moto g - website works great, no heat, no stutter. You can zoom in and watch the motion of the cubes. Is it random motion?

I have heard that there are burrito vending machines at Warsaw Polytechnic University. You select the ingredients, the machine wraps it and delivers- in a soft drink dispensing sized machine. Not sure if the burrito is heated, prior to deli

Very good article. Clear and concise. It pertains not just to this field of study, but to most scientific research. We have seen many of these issues discussed (scientific reporting, publishing) on HN, but this writer summarises a few very

I remember traveling by train, from Calgary to Edmonton, on return trips for the weekend. It was great fun, relaxing, with good food. Hard to beat that by driving in crazy weekend traffic. Or driving to the airport at each end, security th

Interesting project would be to dig out some old cassettes from, let's say, commodore 64. Try to load them into a present day computer by patching wires/cables? - and see if they run in this system. I remember writing for example:

Except for discovery of self. If you are fortunate to get to a spot where no "man" has trod, you can feel it. A feeling of amazement, a surreal loneliness. It is awesome. Are you afraid? Alone? Teeming world is just, over there. Y

The most poignant last words I heard from someone about to die, and did 2 hours later: "I don't want to die." Gives one a lot to think about.

Great article. But if you look at the videos, it is even more amazing. Chemical engineers dream. The microscopic view of the slime, appearing as thread in a bundle, is phenomenal. How? So much? So fast? What can we make with this knowledge?

But, what will power it? Would each installation have a battery and solar panel? Maybe a good idea, small units should be installed, similar to those cheap night lights, if some fail ok, but enough for basic Comms.

Just got a Starlink invitation. But it has very expensive monthly rates, that are more than twice the rate of standard isp's. In rural areas. $136 in Canada. Plus a lot of hardware. (625$) It is very cool, though. Haven't decided

As a Canadian, a few more tips: keep kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors open. To keep water pipes from freezing. They are trouble if they freeze, expand, crack, and then when thaw - start leaking. (Empty toilets if risk of freezing.)(add gl

I keep thinking, that from an engineering standpoint, maybe it's better to look at: What went right? Look at all the processes that worked, and continued to work in spite of high demand and stress. Those are the systems that should be
