Right, not to "defend" the paper's claims, but it seems to be more like tuning how the leaky bucket leaks, using lossy compression to try to preserve some measure of coherency? Seems to turn on the fixed size summary.

1000x this. Hosts are a minority. The vast majority of guests not only don't host, they are not good at showing appreciation. Low key this feels why so much of our social life gets productized/monetized.

Seems like a fairly straight forward UX fix on the engineering side: parse whether the user is searching for wife, or "wife"

Great comment threads here, but the OP article leans too much on AI generated text that is heavy on empty synthetic rhetoric and generative AI clichés.

NFC inlays are paper thin (~0.06mm) and cards are typically 0.2mm (Bicyle) to 0.30mm (M:TG). We can use NFC tools to write an URI pointing at an audio file link using NDEF. I believe Android will play the audio file when you tap the card

The article says the victim used 2fa. How did the attacker know their 2fa in order to send them a fake 2fa request?

Serious question, how did the attacking site (npmjs.help) know the victim's 2fa? ie. How did they know what phone number to send the 2fa request to?

Do you have any citations for various estimates? This is super interesting to me.
