This only requires one image, improving speed, reducing bandwidth etc. And you don't have to 'precomupte' anything.

Agreed -- it would have been to metro what the windows 1.0 logo was to it's tiled windows. If the colours were deemed too garish, then perhaps varying lightness of one colour.

Shipping containers are often used, which can be had for half this used. Usualy a much better idea IMO. Refrigeration units offer good insulation, often alongside partial burying of them. They can also look fairly like the western norm insi

As a reasonably tuned in Brit, i had no idea these protests were happening until reading about it after the fact. I think sopa-fatigue probably set in more with the relevant section english speaking population.

If linodes pricing is whack could you please suggest a similar-but-cheaper alternative that provides at least as good service then?

Take this case for example. Honeywell would simply throw together a crappy product and sell a couple of hundred of them just so they could put Nest out of business. There needs to be greater reform IMO.

I don't know. The base model looks not far off being competitively priced in relation to the luxury car market, with something like a 3-series (the low end of luxury) costing at least $40k. There are obviously going to be good savings cf. f

That's not always the case, scenes of Slumdog millionaire (in the streets) were filmed purely with DSLR, same for the subway scenes of Black Swan. Not a feature film but the entire season 6 finale of House was exclusively shot on a 5D mkII,

You balk at DSLRs but (whilst not the go-to option) they are increasingly being used by the industry. This[1] is an article just about the use of cannon's 5d mkII. You can add Slumdog Millionaire and 127 hours to this list. If it's good eno

I think the effect of people being aware of HN would be quite different from that of HN being available whilst reddit wasn't. Essentially HN is not as 'good' at doing what reddit does (because it's not meant to), so increased awareness is

Something to consider - if HN doesn't go dark it may become a refugee camp for a good chunk of bored reddit users (c. 70m daily pageviews), which could lead to a radical change in HN's userbase. Good to support, too.
