It's a tiny, low power, low cost computer. The uses are almost infinite.

Since all TVs/Monitors/Projectors have had HDMI for some years now, i think it was a wise choice. IIRC there is still composite out for those stuck with only analogue connections.

To be clear-- the reason energy is cheap at night is not JUST because it is used less-- it is also because there are certain continuous energy sources. Nuclear power, geothermal, tidal, wave and wind power are all producing energy round the

I disagree with the patent situation as much as anyone, but that was massively melodramatic (and almost completely lacking any substance).

Reading this thread, the masses of 'um's here really feel contagious.. i wouldn't want to be starting a speech right now. I have to say PGs 'UHM's were very noticeable (distracting, even), although that perhaps was a little influenced by th

I'm not complaining, it's surely no easy task, but how can you claim they are unduly in a hurry? They were 3 months behind their original plan. This was a mistake by their manufacturers, and could have happened no matter how long they took.

Consider also that when GPD of the richest 300m Chinese surpasses that of the GDP of the USA, that is the point at which the battle is essentially won in favour of China, because they will be a larger high-GDP market than the USA at that po

This brings to mind an interesting point- economic migration. An Alabaman(?) wanting to set up a start up is likely to move to california or new york- suppressing the GDP of Alabama and increasing it for CA/NY. The same migration applies to

Sure, but that's a rather contrived example-- most people have a fairly normal room, and the average joe would be best served by getting a good pair of speakers, and a reasonable amplifier and DAC, before worrying seriously about room aco

I'm not a huge NIN fan, but Trent is truly awesome when it comes to digital music. You can add excellent mastering and dedicated surround mixes too..(rec: Social network soundtrack). Also a former oink'er. The beatles multi-tracks are also

I have to say that was probably the most comprehensive dealings with the issue of sample-rates I've ever come across. I'm not going to make the mistake others have of claiming falsehoods (all of which i've read so far have been debunked to

Its fascinating. These 'pundits', lets remember (beside the question of whether it was even accurate or significant-- enough pundits and someone will have said anything), we didn't know what the iPad was going to be. The possibility that it

I can't say I can hold zero blame for the rPi gang on this clusterfuck.. offloading the task was never going to help, it should have been obvious RS/Farnell were not ready- Amazon were the only retailer that could have handled it. But I don

As a point of comparison, Tesco, one of the UK's largest companies, also has a 3% profit margin. They do take £1 in every 7 spent in the UK high street, so it obviously works quite nicely for them. So at volume, it is very sustainable.

You paint a rather rosy picture of UK carriers. Whilst you are right with regards to phone availability, while contracts and PAYG are still centred primarily around voice minutes and text messages, we are far from 'dumb pipe' territory.
