I’m always a little confused by the hype of KnR. It seems like just an introduction on the syntax of c? It doesn’t seem to really tell you how to build great programs with C or anything more complex than the absolute basics which you can fi

I know this is suppose to be self-soothing for a managers ego, but unfortunately you are responsible for their failures if their failures result in projects going over budget or over schedule. You are responsible for creating an environment

embedded software & DSP are traditionally more electrical and computer engineering subjects (closer to hardware) than software engineering subjects, but yes there is a lot of cross over.

I've been getting more and more active on the largest instance of lemmy - https://lemmy.ml - and its crazy how many popular subreddit names have been created on lemmy.ml in the last week. I'm not sure if the philosophy

Why would this be the end of HN? HN does not have communities, its algorithm is good at supporting diverse content, and the moderators are good at keeping discussion civil.

gonna be hard going mainstream with a name like "phuks", unfortunately. i.e. "i posted on reddit" "i posted on lemmy" ... "i posted on phuks" sounds a little nsfw.

This method has 2 error terms - phase error and amplitude error. You can only represent sinusoids with a resolution of 2pi/2^N rad/samp (same phase error if you don’t do phase truncation). Maybe that’s enough for most applications

first sane response - yes its a generational to multi generational problem. We are dealing with the outcome of decisions made long ago. There are now two issues: (1) all the currently homeless (2) the people in the pipeline to be homeless.

Maybe "orders of magnitude" was a misstatement. looks like ~12 billion (tesla) vs 53 billion (toyota). Maybe I'm a stock noob, but profit margins seem like an arbitrary silly metric to care about. What does it really mean? I
