I couldn't think of any so I asked why people use exercise trackers. If the goal is exercise then I've managed to do without them so if you know what their purpose is then you can just answer. But if you don't know then I don

This is the bottle imp paradox: https://boingboing.net/2019/02/07/the-paradox-of-the-bottle-... . The crash is far enough in the future that people don't worry about buying into USDT because they think th

I don't know. I'm not an expert but seems like there should be some institution that figures out whether financial games like stablecoins are actually economically beneficial and whether they should be regulated in some way or oth

No one has seen any of their collateral or knows how much of it they actually have. I believe the finance people call this being over-leveraged but I'm not an expert. Seems kinda weird that the SEC hasn't looked into it.

I'm not religious either but by reading the works of the folks I suggested I have a better sense of what is in my control and what is not so that I can focus on things that I can address and not worry so much about things that are out

This is the zeitgeist so what you're feeling is reasonable. We live in material abundance but spiritual destitution. So unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do individually that will help other than maybe look int

I don't understand what you're arguing. What exactly is incorrect in what I wrote?

Actually, now that I have explained the argument I realize it has nothing to do with induction. The logic of the argument is unrelated to induction, it's simply about functions that take constant values on some sets and what is require

The argument in the article is the following: Given some function f, if f(A) = f(B) = f(A ⋂ B) then f is equal to some constant c and f(A ⋃ B) = c. This argument is valid only if A ⋂ B ≠ ∅. It doesn't apply to the base cases because an

I don't think this is correct. The main argument uses a very specific inductive invariant of applying transitivity of equality to a non-empty set. The argument doesn't apply in the base cases because it is vacuously true so the mi

You have to find the minimal case where the inductive invariant is valid. In this case when the horses are separated into two groups, A and B, the assumption is that their intersection is non-empty (A ∩ B ≠ ∅). Because only in the case wher

It makes intuitive sense. Social cohesion requires trusting democratic institutions but that trust is currently at an all time low thanks in no small part of talking heads on platforms like Twitter and Facebook. With every ideologue pushing

Why do you care? It's not like GitHub is going to be any different. It will still continue to host your code.
