I couldn't think of any so I asked why people use exercise trackers. If the goal is exercise then I've managed to do without them so if you know what their purpose is then you can just answer. But if you don't know then I don't get why you're even commenting.

- necovek 5y agoOthers might need to use a fitness tracker for external motivation even if you don't. Extrapolating from your experience of one is rarely useful (as I tried to demonstrate with my comment). On top of that, other reasons are obvious from any review on them (health monitoring, sleep tracking, notifications integration, goal tracking...).
- poetically 5y agoStill don't see the point but to each their own I guess. Seems like a waste of money.
- necovek 5y agoOne could argue that exercising is a waste of energy altogether. You should be contributing that energy to something of value, eg. farming, construction work, postal work... You can always reduce waste and optimise things further, but we are not strictly optimising, rational beings either.
- bookofjoe 5y agoMany people including myself are more apt to do something that can be quantified.
- poetically 5y agoThat's just bizarre.
