Apple and Android both provide a ton of pre-built, customizable, components for use in apps. I would argue that no one needs to build a Twitter Bootstrap for mobile because Apple and Google have already done so.

Sure, I won't deny that it's somewhat link bait-y, but I have commits from before I launched that are related to the API, so it's not entirely untrue either. I just started working on it, in earnest, so that I could release it, 22 days ago.

To be clear, I only started working on the API 22 days ago and have been waiting 8 days to get re-verified for my class 2 SSL certificate before releasing the feature today. The 596 days is in reference to the first request of an API here:

Photoshop CS5 took roughly 4 seconds to start on my MBA. Is this guy seriously complaining about 4 seconds? Several popular iOS (and I'm sure there are some on Android as well) take longer than that to load...

Based on the screenshots, it looks like it's flash/flex based. I can't actually get it to works so I can't verify that. Are they serious? I guess they don't plan on having any good mobile support.

I think Topolsky's analysis of MG Siegler's and Gruber's comments are absurd. Sure, I don't know exactly what they were thinking when they wrote what they wrote, but it's hard to imagine that Siegler and Gruber would implicitly or explicitl

VidYard and Vimeo Pro are both incredibly new offerings. If you look at just about every single established player you'll see that they have very similar pricing models to SproutVideo. VidYard and Vimeo Pro's pricing models seem to be based

Not all of them use flash local storage objects maliciously, however. Many of them use local storage objects to actually track user preferences which is how they are intended to be used.

While I don't disagree with some of the claims made, other claims, especially those about the harm caused to the Plaintiffs and Class Members, are pretty amusing. They're claiming that it caused economic loss because it resulted in unauthor

As long as you pass on all of the costs onto the user, it works out pretty well and you should never lose any money on a customer.

There are pretty much three major costs to consider when it comes to video online. They are storage, delivery and encoding. Storage is pretty cheap. S3 starts at $0.14 per GB for the first TB and then drops to $0.125 for the next 50TB and s

I wound up quitting my job about midway through October 2010 because customer support was beginning to require too much of my time. The idea was in no way original, but came out of an opportunity to both prevent hundres of people from losin

The average CPC for last month was around $4.21. The conversion rate was around 4.86%. I don't feel comfortable giving away the CLV, but it's considerably higher than the cost of acquisition.

Just about everything is on AWS. I use EC2 for the servers, S3 for storage, CloudFront for streaming, Route53 for DNS, SQS for messaging, and CloudWatch for monitoring. So, there are no real interesting solutions for the storage or streamin

It's somewhat hard to calculate where my time is spent as I don't really keep a good record of it. If I had to guess, I would say the breakdown is something like this: 40% - Coding 30% - Customer Service 10% - Marketing 10% - Sys. Admin 10%

Before we launched, we had hard data from my old company about how much the users cost and how many resources they used (encoding, streaming, storage, etc.) We were able to use those numbers to calculate what our costs would be per user.
