Also keep in mind that most people don't read every tweet. Even people with relatively few follows will let tweets flow by for days or weeks without reading them and just pick up again whenever.

Calling something the "Bush tax cuts" is a still-english shortening of a long bill name: "Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003" Wikipedia even mentions that this is the commonly used name. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

It might have that potential but I think illustrators and architects will be the last people to adopt it. If you've ever used the last version you would see it was slow, imprecise, buggy, and gave you the feel that you were only vaguely con

Added emscripten which to my untrained eyes seems like the place where a lot of gains can be made. You can gain a lot by removing the middleman but sometimes you can gain a lot by adding one.

I'm actually more interested in the "elastic memory" bit: http://www.azulsystems.com/products/zing/elastic-memory When I used to work with JVM's all day I was always frustrated about having to decide how big a maximum heap for a given app

Any time I see research or visualizations of primes, I get nervous. I fear that all of our online security is based on encryption and all of that is based on the one-way nature of prime functions. Can you imagine a world where someone disco

That's because DOM interactions are one of the least interesting aspects of Javascript and not where the current innovation is happening. JQuery has pretty much taken care of that. Buy a JQuery book for that. The newer javascript frameworks

I saw you promoting this before and to be frank I looked at it and didn't understand what it would be good for. I thought, "Oh, ok so it's like a cron task that's easier to manage but you pay for" and then filed it away deep in my brain und

If the claims made by Perry are found to be in any way true, then the project's reputation would take a big hit. And yet, based on how this is being handled I find myself respecting OpenBSD even more.

Andy Baio was recently on Dan Benjamin's show The Pipeline and he spoke a bit about upcoming.org's acquisition. I believe he described the support he got as underwhelming. Basically you go in, meet with a bunch of groups and then are left b

I wonder how difficult it would be to port the language and classes over to the LLVM, if their would even be legal ramifications in doing that and in the end if it is worth it, given that languages have progressed beyond Java now. Isn't t

As other people are saying, this has a lot to do with almost all projects relying somewhat on Javascript. It also has a lot to do with there being very poor ways of managing dependencies in Javascript. For instance, in python there is pip/p

I have never personally used buildout so I can't speak about it pro or con. It always seemed a bit heavy handed to me but that's an uninformed opinion. I also think the idea of packaging to egg files is somewhat unneeded. When I use pip, I
