The article claims "The limitations on financial claims will (probably) not make this a lucrative line of mass litigation." I wonder how true that is given how lawyers have leveraged laws like patent, ADA etc into lucrative mass l

My gardener has been creating a leaf bank in our yard, where they don’t remove all the leaves and instead let them build up in select areas. It’s amazing the difference in wildlife, we’ve seen a continuous stream of critters that we never s

83b seems like one of the most esoteric and user unfriendly IRS mechanisms ever. There's no official form. There's no way to file it online. The recommended approach is to use certified mail return receipt which for most people re

If the perp had put this inside something innocuous like a POE injector, and filled it with resin so the SD card could not be easily examined, the device would likely still be there and/or they would not have been caught.

Is that surprising given that you could fit over 200 Switzerlands into Canada and another 200 into the US? BC alone is over 20 times the size of Switzerland. Cars are the best possible option in that case surely?

I got a notice for unpaid back taxes from some state agency in California for a company that had been sold over a decade earlier, merely because we had one part-time employee in California for a few months.

This is why PEO's like Justworks are great IMHO. You can offer the big company benefits experience without getting ground to dust by federal/state/local regulations. I can't imagine going back to the old way at any small

All of the recent legislation on this topic, including the EU Digital Markets Act, has a numerical unit cutoff which basically exempts all video game consoles.

They did a SPAC in 2020 so his 'investors' were mostly the general public. Actual investors were pretty skeptical of them, e.g. Hindenburg shorted them extensively and called them a fraud.

I know several successful founders who had to pitch over 100 firms on their financing round. I would say the usual number is probably 30 to 50, but 100 isn't out of the ordinary, especially if you are doing something unusual or new.

Not necessarily. It could also be code for "We can't write a check big enough to lead your round". E.g. a seed fund who writes $1m checks isn't going to lead a $5m round. The VC would be putting themselves out of a job i

Hopin isn’t really a Silicon Valley company. The founder is an Australian living in the UK, the team is remote and the lead investors in the unicorn rounds (Coatue, Tiger Global) are NY based.

Unreal has limited traction on mobile, which is now >50% of the gaming market. It's likely one of the reasons Unity thinks they can get away with this. The last number I saw had Unity above 50% share with Unreal under 15%. It's
