I think this is because Amazon loves to churn teams. My team, not Amazon, had alot of churn when I joined. Basically a full turn over within a year. We lost alot of institutional knowledge and had to reverse engineer stuff all over the plac

You're wrong. Sorry, you don't get to handwave away the many places that are paying $9 an hour and were paying $7.25 last year. Some are still trying to around here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benford%27s_law This is a good way to detect fraud. Basically, any number set will tend to have more 1,2,3's vs 7,8,9. Fraudsters will use random data that doesn't follow this.

You can manipulate the payment of taxes and only pay off the loans when you have other offsets to avoid paying taxes. 9 years no taxes, year 10 I pay off my loans and donate a chair to a University.

Question? How do you feel about healthcare? Why is this the one place we should follow the rest of the world, wealth tax / VAT? One might suspect the wealthy are just dropping turds in the punchbowl.

Not all states require #3. Indiana does not, but you have to pick one.

The other problem is substitution. WalMart will sub something different as if it's the same. They also assume you picked up if you go anywhere near the store.

I've always viewed work as means to an end, and that end is getting paid to take care of my family. I've made some good friends, but I've also been forced to tolerate some people I would rather not be around. I also find that

Without the commuter rush, many places were much more pleasant. I'm in a suburban area and it used to be a solid hour of "line 'o cars" on the main street by my house. God forbid you want to go somewhere at 5pm or 8am. N

Sounds like you need an environment with better collaboration tools and people who know how to communicate. I was getting a slew of emails related to a project and after a bit of coaching I got most of these updates to go into a teams chann

If you control your update source, which is standard practice for old school linux admins; this is not true. I pull new updates on a set schedule and only push the ones that are tested in nonprod. There are any number of tools that do this,

I would never use a co-working space. I want to be home, not in some pseudo office. I also wonder how the end of pandemic norms will effect people who claim they want to be in the office. If they can get their socialization outside the offi

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Contrast that with Indiana who guarantees all high school graduate admission to Ivy Tech. Texas is offering a way better deal and driving opportunity for a diverse group of students.

There are many of parts of the US education system that weed out poor people and disadvantaged people before the University has to deny their application. The poor people who get into elite universities in the US are very much an exception.

Surprisingly, Texas is a real outlier here. Most states have some last resort college you can attend, but it's usually a community college, or AS degree institution. UT Austin is a really good school from what I hear.

BB lost a part of an order, just a $3 thermal paste. Luckily the heat sink came with some. I couldn't dispute it with BB, post office blew me off, and since it was only about 10% of the order I couldn't dispute with cc.
