Yeah, this isn’t something I’ve seen either, and given the limited wildlife behaviour (tiny bit of damage to them and they fall over like a wooden prop) I’m wondering if this might be a case of Chinese whispers. And yes, I too would love a

I read about this sort of thing years ago, and I seem to remember the consensus being that while it's entirely possible to build skill-adaptive AI, it tends to frustrate players no end. I don't know if there's been any moveme

First, the OS can't hide that because it's not a middleman in the execution of program code. When a program is running on a CPU it has access to the instructions that tell it what CPU it is. Technically, it could, using virtuali

IOKit is actually a considerable chunk of the kernel, particularly if you count the various "families", some of which remain open source. I'd say it's Apple's main contribution to the kernel at the architectural lev

Not one I can easily point you to - my in-laws' neighbour apparently used to be an engineer on board such ships. It's possible this is no longer accurate as this would have presumably been some decades ago.

Although waste will be produced, that doesn't mean it's emitted into the air. There is a famous waste burning plant[1] (~6MW) within the city of Vienna, and which is near residential buildings and supplies the nearby general hospi

That makes sense, so I suppose the explanation might be that these bystanders were also outsiders, but, as turned out, presumably too late, they merely were in the wrong place at the wrong time as you say and guilty by proximity. My initial

Thanks for the link. I guess I was aware of the general lawlessness of that part of the world at the time, but the part about " cattle rustling being “considered one of the lowest forms of crime.” " seemed like a reference to some

Entirely tangential to the main thrust of the article, but this threw me: a noose dangling from “the hanging tree,” which a plaque explains was used to execute three cattle rustlers and two unlucky bystanders, cattle rustling being “consid
