I understand why there needs to be a limited amount of any currency unit. It's because currency is for conducting transactions involving resources which are also limited. What I don't understand is why you think scarcity implies

Right, but, apparently editing Wikipedia and improving OSM aren't things you approve of someone receiving UBI doing. I'm guessing there are other things people would be enabled to do by UBI that you wouldn't approve of as we

So, basically, you just don't like what you think people would do with their time, if given the chance because they're not chained to a job? Sorry if this sounds overly confrontational, but I couldn't think of a more civil w

You are arguing a minor, irrelevant, and largely incorrect point of semantics. > Who owns the Federal Reserve? > The Federal Reserve System is not "owned" by anyone. The Federal Reserve was created in 1913 by the Federal Res

Potato, potatoe. Who do you think controls "the Fed?" Cui bono ? Your comment would also imply that before there was such a thing as a Federal Reserve, income and wealth inequality didn't exist. This is false.

So what if it's scarce? Why should I be transacting using a record of someone's solution to a useless math problem to begin with? You haven't answered my question at all. As for it "not depreciating," I claim that

What are these "fundamentals" you speak of? Why should I pay anything at all for a record of the fact that someone, sometime in the past solved a useless math problem?

It's more like no politician wants to be seen as "soft on crime," and this carries over to "soft on criminals." Doing anything to help people in prison once they get out is politically risky in a lot of places. J
