Essentially, the author (who is Indian) says that to break the ceiling for Indians, those Indians who made it against the odds formed a network to help other Indians coming in behind them. This allowed them to stake their claim in the valle

I am really excited about this. This technology would've changed my life as a child, and it still potentially can. Every few years I need to have surgery to replace the bone around my crushed skull (mostly in my eye socket area. Right now t

Bad maybe, but there is something powerful about the inconsistent reward when posting then waiting to see how much karma the comment gathered. It's addictive in the same sense that checking e-mail is addictive.

I'm paying $80 right now for DSL and I'd love to pay a little more for gigabit. Probably not $200 though.

I've been accutely aware of this as my reader base has expanded over the last several months to several thousand readers and 10s of thousands of page views. My goal is to stay honest and still be willing to make a fool of myself. The main d

This goes through historical examples of when machinery that automated jobs did not actually, over the long term, create job loss. His position is that that will be the case forever... but he doesn't actually prove it. I think his assumptio

I want to be able to see the automagic stuff in the windows, like the doctype and the javascript framework inclusion. I feel disoriented without it, and I don't think I trust the software to do it the way I want it done -- being able to see

I guess it's fair enough. Homeschooling worked for my older son. If he had been forced to go to school he'd probably be an under educated cog at 18, instead of holding a Bachelor's and having the freedom to travel.

This guy is making a name for himself and he's in his early 20s. What have you done? Maybe arrogance is underrated.

Curio and easter eggs from specific levels in the game, not advice about how to design good levels. Pity.

Another reason it's alright to blog for free is that if you build something worthwhile, you get fringe benefits like recognition and introductions to bigger players.

Your point is well taken, but here's another perspective, from a person who consumes a moderate amount of games, and actually produces games as well. I see every new game as a chance to be inspired by the artistry that goes into them. Of co

They do segment. There are games for kids, casual games, social games, everything. I think in the more or less "core" demographic though, and they produce more games than I have time to play.

Tell me about it, we don't even have a movement. We're 50 years behind homosexuals in terms of rights and social acceptance. At least we're not killed for it.

Summary: A particle (probably a proton) was detected hitting the atmosphere at nearly the speed of light, which is kind of impossible or at least implausible, and they can't figure out how it happened or where it came from. My question is:
