Once again, there is a general conflation of evolutionary algorithms and learning without a differentiable error function. I've presented this argument again with a discussion with antirez here on HN [1], but the crux of is that Reinfo

I'm in this situation, that is I'm graduating next year and I already have a job lined up in SV. Personally, there just isn't anything for me here. I hate winter (depression for 7 months, anyone?). Everything is far. Entertai

NYC has rent controls, which themselves actually limit the quantity supplied. Arguably, AirBnB provides for a more efficient resource allocation since it allows the unit's price to float to the market equilibrium.

I don't know what you're talking about. As a new graduate, I have a very hefty Data Science offer in the Bay. (Canadian here btw).

Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure the economists at Amazon have done the analysis. Now that the market is cornered and inelastic, revenues will increase with rising prices.

Going through this right now, albeit with Robinhood. I have to report my earning in Canada and the US, but I have a lot of transactions. The IRS is okay with the condensed transactions; but the CRA want everything line-by-line. So now I hav

Right, but what would be the difference if this program was produced by Deep RL algorithm, where the state is the current program (an encoding of the program) and the actions are valid instructions in your stack language? An episode in this

Respectfully, We've had "learning-to-learn" algorithms for a few years now. Including LSTMs that can be learn the gradients for other LSTMs, and deep-RL algorithms that can optimize neural networks. Its hard to say its invent

You're right, And essentially the only way to achieve the optimum (maximum price discrimination?) is to know that specific consumer's demand curve -- which is also the whole idea behind "contact us" pricing pages. I also

I recommend anyone trying to decide pricing for their SaaS, or any product in general, to study a bit about Consumer Surplus. There is a very classical paper "A Disneyland Dilemma: Two-Part Tariffs for a Mickey Mouse Monopoly" tha
